Prof. Ian Chapman MBBS, PhD, FRACP

Prof. Chapman is an endocrinologist who consults at the Marden surgery. He also consults at Wallaroo and the Royal Adelaide Hospital, where he is a senior specialist. He is a professor at the University of Adelaide where he conducts research on nutrition in older people, and co-chairs the University’s Faculty of Health Sciences Admission Committee.

Prof. Peter Clifton MBBS, B Med Sci, PhD, FRACP

Prof. Clifton is a general physician specialising in endocrinology/dyslipidaemia. He has been Head of the Clinical Research Unit at CSIRO Health Sciences and Nutrition since 1994, and been theme leader for Obesity and Health since 2004. He is now responsible for all food and health related research in both CSIRO Human Nutrition and Food Science Australia. Prof. Clifton has developed strategies to modify cardiovascular risk, and in recent years broadened the focus to the control of obesity and obesity-related conditions, including management of hyperglycaemia and disordered lipids in diabetic and insulin-resistant subjects, and strategies to modify macronutrient intake in order to optimise weight loss in the obese.  Prof. Clifton is responsible for the management of a specialised support team comprising research dietitians, registered nurses and clinical trial managers, which plans and coordinates volunteer studies, conducts pre-launch product testing and efficacy trials, offers consultancy services, provides research advice and literature reviews, and conducts education and information programs. 

Dr. James Hunt BSc, MBBS, FRACP

Dr. Hunt is a consultant gastroenterologist who has a particular interest in motility disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, having completed a fellowship in oesophageal motility and reflux studies at The Royal Adelaide Hospital in 2014. Dr Hunt was awarded a Bachelor of Medicine by Flinders University in 2007. He undertook his gastroenterology training in Sydney, Darwin and Adelaide and was awarded his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2014. He has accreditation to perform gastroscopy and colonoscopy at Calvary North Adelaide. Dr Hunt prides himself on expert, empathetic care with excellent skills in explaining medical concepts.

 

Dr. David Jesudason MBBS, FRACP

Dr. David Jesudason is an endocrinologist who consults at our Marden Surgery.  Dr. Jesudason also consults at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and the Royal Adelaide Hospital.  Dr. Jesudason is the Director of Endocrinology and Diabetes at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and the Director of Endocrinology for Country Health SA.  Dr. Jesudason is a member of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and the Endocrine Society of Australia.  Dr. Jesudason is involved with the University of Adelaide and is a Clinical Lecturer for the University.  Dr. Jesudason has special interests in diabetes and thyroid disorders, osteoporosis, hyperthyroidism, and pituitary and adrenal disease. Dr. Chinmay Marathe MBBS, PhD, FRACP

Dr Chinmay Marathe is an Australian trained Endocrinologist and a postdoctoral fellow based at the University of Australia. He undertook specialist training in diabetes and endocrinology at Royal Adelaide and Queen Elizabeth Hospitals followed by postdoctoral training in the United Kingdom (King's College London). Dr Marathe is a past recipient of the Australian Diabetes Society Skip-Martin Fellowship. He holds membership of the American Diabetes Association, European Society for the Study of Diabetes, Diabetes UK and the Australian Diabetes Society. Dr Marathe maintains an active interest in diabetes research and publishes regularly in the international peer-reviewed journals. He was awarded a PhD in 2016 (University of Adelaide). r Marathe's clinical interested include diabetes, thyroid disorders and osteoporosis. In addition to English, he is fluent in Hindi and Marathi.

Dr. Chris Hrycek 

Dr Chris Hrycek graduated from medicine before commencing training in General Medicine at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. He has also worked at the Lyell McEwin Hospital and with the Drug and Alcohol Services of South Australia. He then went on to commence training in Gastroenterology at Flinders Medical Centre in 2017. He was born and raised in Clare Valley, and spent time working at Mildura Base Hospital and Alice Springs during his training. In 2020, he completed post fellowship training in General & Acute Care Medicine.
