Fluvax Update - 2/4/20

We have now received a limited supply of our Government funded flu vaccines.  We have started taking bookings for our Flu Clinics but as we have a limited supply, we expect these will be booked out very quickly.

We apologise for the inconvenience and we know that many of our patients have called many times to make bookings.

Telehealth Appointments

Given the fast-changing nature of the Coronavirus pandemic, we are now offering Telehealth appointments to all of our patients. We will book a time with your doctor and they will call you for a phone consult. This phone consult will now be covered by Medicare for all patients and there will be no out of pocket cost to you.

Please note: Our telephone is answered 24 hours a day. All after-hours telephone calls to East Adelaide Healthcare are diverted to our medical answering service, who will organise the appropriate care for you.

To all of our patients,

Heading into the Flu Season and the Coronavirus potentially being an additional challenge for this year, we want to reassure you that we are taking your health seriously. We aim to practise a high standard of infection control, and to do this we require your help.

Coronavirus Update - 1/3/20

In line with national advice, SA Health has recommended:

  • If you have travelled from Hubei Province within the past 14 days, you must isolate yourself until 14 days have elapsed after leaving Hubei Province.
  • If you have left, or transited through, mainland China on or after 1 February 2020 you must isolate yourself until 14 days after leaving China.
  • If you have been in close contact with a confirmed case of novel coronavirus, you must isolate yourself for 14 days after last contact with the confirmed case.
  • If you have travelled to mainland China you should monitor yourself for the 14 days from the departure from mainland China for symptoms of coronavirus.

Symptoms may include cough, trouble breathing, fatigue, sore throat or fever.

If you have travelled OVERSEAS in the last 14 days and have the symptoms above or have been in contact with a person with Coronavirus in the past 14 days:

  • Please call us on 8230 6900 (Marden) or 8360 9777 (Newton) or call the dedicated hotline on 1800 675 398.
  • If you are significantly unwell, call 000 and advise them of your symptoms and your travel history.

Dr Kate Pensa's Maternity Leave

We would like to wish Dr Kate Pensa all the very best for her Maternity Leave. 

Her last day is Friday 7/2/20 and we will welcome her back later this year.

EAHC Newton Surgery Closure Friday 17th of January 2020

Our Newton Surgery will be closed all day on Friday 17th of January 2020 due to an interruption to our power supply.

If you require medical assistance, please phone our Marden surgery on 8230 6900 (we will be open at Marden as normal).  If we are unavailable our phone number will divert to our after-hours service during this time.

Changes to EAHC Online Bookings

We are pleased to announce the introduction of three new appointment types that can be selected by patients when booking online.

We now offer appointment types for Standard Consults, Long Consults, Adult Immunisations and for patients who believe they may be infectious / contagious we now have the Infectious / Contagious appointment type.
